Wildlife

Much like the plants, a diversity of wildlife exists at the Center tied to the diversity of natural habitats and those habitats enhanced by forest management activities.  Creatures associated with extremes of wet and dry, sunlight and shade, fire or no fire can be found across the grounds.

Opportunities exist for diversity of songbirds, reptiles, amphibians, game & nongame species.  Without trying to cover the entire list:  deer, turkey, quail, Bachman’s sparrow, prairie warblers, red breasted grosbeaks, all the poisonous snakes of Alabama, barking tree frogs, gopher tortoises, fox squirrels and many others.
