Plants and Flowers

A diversity of site-conditions, sunlight and soil types combined with various forest management techniques all work together to produce a wide variety of native plants.  Spring brings out native azaleas, mountain laurels and atamasco lilies, while late summer brings forth blazing star, iron weed, silk grass and golden rods to name a few.

The Auburn University Department of Biological Sciences is conducting a botanical inventory of the Center covering several years and all seasons.  A plant list of this collection will be made available when completed.  A similar list of bryophytes & lichens compiled by the Bloomquist Foray will also be available soon.
