Dr. Michael Brown has received a new NSF award for his collaborative project “Collaborative Research: FRGMS: Multigraded Commutative Algebra, Toric Varieties, and Homological Mirror Symmetry” (Award #2412042). This project brings together researchers from six institutions and explores deep connections between algebra, geometry, and physics, with applications spanning symplectic geometry, toric varieties, and homological mirror symmetry.
The total award amount for Auburn is $193,584, and the project will run from August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2028. Michael is collaborating with Christine Berkesch (Minnesota), Matthew Ballard (South Carolina), Sheel Ganatra (USC), Andrew Hanlon (Dartmouth), and Dan Erman (Hawaii).
Congratulations, Michael, on this outstanding accomplishment!

Dr. Selim Sukhtaiev has received a new NSF grant for his collaborative research with Dr. Gregory Berkolaiko of Texas A&M University. The project, titled "Collaborative Research: Spectral Theory and Edge States in Topological Insulators" (Award #2510344), aims to develop mathematical tools to study edge states in topological insulators. This work brings together techniques from spectral theory, symplectic geometry, and mathematical physics.
The total award amount for Auburn is $181,162, with additional funding awarded to Texas A&M. The project will run from August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2028.
Congratulations, Selim, on this well-deserved recognition!

Dr. Le Chen has received an NSF CAREER Award for his project, "CAREER: Stochastic Partial Differential Equations: Analysis and Applications." The award, totaling $400,000, will support his work from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030.
This prestigious award supports Dr. Chen’s work on stochastic partial differential equations, including the stochastic heat equation, the parabolic Anderson model, and the KPZ equation. His project tackles fundamental questions about how rough initial data and complex noise structures shape universality classes, and seeks to unify key models using fractional operators.
This is a major milestone and an outstanding recognition of Dr. Chen’s innovative contributions to probability and stochastic analysis.
Congratulations, Le!
