Dr. Selim Sukhtaiev has received a new NSF grant for his collaborative research with Dr. Gregory Berkolaiko of Texas A&M University. The project, titled "Collaborative Research: Spectral Theory and Edge States in Topological Insulators" (Award #2510344), aims to develop mathematical tools to study edge states in topological insulators. This work brings together techniques from spectral theory, symplectic geometry, and mathematical physics.
 
The total award amount for Auburn is $181,162, with additional funding awarded to Texas A&M. The project will run from August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2028.
