Dr. Michael Brown has received a new NSF award for his collaborative project “Collaborative Research: FRGMS: Multigraded Commutative Algebra, Toric Varieties, and Homological Mirror Symmetry” (Award #2412042). This project brings together researchers from six institutions and explores deep connections between algebra, geometry, and physics, with applications spanning symplectic geometry, toric varieties, and homological mirror symmetry.

The total award amount for Auburn is $193,584, and the project will run from August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2028. Michael is collaborating with Christine Berkesch (Minnesota), Matthew Ballard (South Carolina), Sheel Ganatra (USC), Andrew Hanlon (Dartmouth), and Dan Erman (Hawaii).
