AU Math Placement

AU Students Enrolled Summer/Fall 2021 or Later

For students who enroll at Auburn in Summer/Fall 2021 or later, mathematics course placement is determined by the following:

  • ACT/SAT Math Subsection scores
  • ALEKS Math Placement Test score
  • Credit awarded from AP/IB test scores
  • College credit earned through dual enrollment or transfer credit

If a student does not have scores or college credit for any of the assessment methods below, they will only be allowed to register for MATH 1000 and will have to take the appropriate set of prerequisite courses to meet their mathematics course(s) requirement for their major. For specific information about various mathematics courses and CORE mathematics requirements, please refer to the: Auburn Bulletin

NOTE: If you enrolled at Auburn prior to Summer/Fall 2021, please visit aub.ie/oldmathplacement for information about mathematics course placement.
