The Korea Center–King Sejong Institute (KC-KSI) at Auburn University, established through a partnership between Auburn University and Keimyung University, serves as a hub for research, education, and community engagement centered on contemporary Korea and East Asia. The Center fosters interdisciplinary scholarship and meaningful dialogue on the region's social, cultural, political, and economic developments through research initiatives, academic programs, lectures, and collaborative partnerships.
KC-KSI also advances Korean language and cultural education to build cross-cultural understanding and lasting connections between Korea and local communities. Through language instruction, cultural programming, and community outreach, the Center offers Auburn University students, faculty, staff, and the greater Auburn–Opelika community meaningful opportunities to engage with Korean culture and perspectives.
Housed in Foy Hall, KC-KSI is supported by visiting scholars, language instructors, and interns from South Korea, who contribute to its educational and research mission. Signature annual events—including Chuseok, Korea Fest, and the K-Pop Party—celebrate Korean culture while strengthening the bond between Korea and the local community.
