- Volunteers needs for the Adventures in Art program. The Adventures in Art program will be held September 8 - 11 at the Donald E. Davis Arboretum and the Julie and Hal Moore Center for Excellence at Auburn High School. Adventures in Art is a field trip component of a community-based, art education program for all fourth and fifth grade students from Auburn City Schools. This year’s program will focus on sustainability in art. The program will begin with a performance by Doc Waller. After the initial performance, students will split into groups and attend three workshops. The visual arts workshop will focus on a mosaic project using recycled materials from the Zero Landfill Project. Students will also enjoy a sustainability workshop that will utilize the Donald E. Davis Arboretum. Finally, students will enjoy a performance workshop with Doc Waller Waller focusing on theatre. Volunteers are needed in each workshop to assist in workshop set up, workshop clean up and general management of students. Adventures in Art will begin at 8 a.m. each day and ends at approximately 1 p.m. Set up for Adventures in Art each day will begin at 7 a.m. at the Arboretum.
