Will graduates still be able to take photos in Jordan-Hare Stadium?

Yes, graduates will have a designated time to visit Jordan-Hare Stadium immediately following their ceremony. Graduates will receive a second name card when they arrive at their Saturday commencement ceremony. The second name card will be their ticket to enter the stadium at the Harbert Family Recruiting Center to have their photo taken with Aubie then they can have their photo taken standing on the field with their name on the jumbotron.

Can graduates just take their photo with Aubie and in Jordan-Hare Stadium and not attend their Saturday ceremony?

No, graduates must attend their ceremony to receive an RFID ticket.

How does my family get into Jordan-Hare Stadium for photos?

Guests may enter the stadium through gates 12-13 or through Gate 9 for direct field access or for accessibility needs.

What is the Friday Commencement Address?

The Friday Commencement Address offers many of the elements associated with a traditional ceremony, including a commencement speaker, and the formal conferral of degrees. For those who are unable to attend the ceremony, Auburn will provide a livestream of the ceremonies at

Is attendance at the Friday Commencement Address required?

Undergraduates are strongly encouraged to attend wearing their regalia. Graduate students planning to participate in the graduate school ceremony are required to attend. Undergraduates will enter through the main doors with guests and there will be a designated area for undergraduates to sit for the conferral of their degree.

What time do the commencement ceremonies start?

What time should graduates arrive?

Graduates should arrive at the Auburn Arena at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their school/college ceremony. Graduates will enter through the far-right doors of the main entrance. Signage will be available.

What time can guests arrive?

Doors open at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 6 and 7:00 am on Saturday, August 7

What time will commencement end?

The Commencement Address will end on Friday at 7:00 pm, undergraduate ceremonies will end Saturday at 3:00 pm.

Do graduates and guests have to wear face coverings?

Yes. Face coverings are required. More information is available on the Covid-19 Resource Center.

What doors do graduates, and guests enter through?

Guests must enter through the main Arena entrances. Those with accessibility needs may enter through the Scholarship entrance. Graduates must enter through the far-right doors at the main entrance.

Are graduates limited to the number of guests they can bring?

No. Seating is available on a first-come, first served basis, including accessibility seating. The ceremony can be viewed live on the Auburn University Commencement website at

What happens in the event of inclement weather?

In the event of inclement weather the university will continue with the ceremony as planned.

Where can graduates and guests park?

The Arena parking lot is reserved for accessibility parking only. The Coliseum parking lot and the Stadium Parking Deck are available parking areas.

Will concessions be sold?

Yes. Concession stands will be open inside the Auburn Arena. Guests are allowed to bring in one unopened, factory-sealed bottle of water (up to one liter in size).

What should graduates wear under their regalia?

Due to the ever-changing Alabama weather, all graduates are encouraged to wear weather appropriate, comfortable clothing under their regalia. However, please be mindful that all graduates will be asked to remove or lift up their gown upon entering the Auburn Arena.

Can graduates wear high heels?

Please wear flats or wedges, high heels are damaging to the flooring and decking of the stage.

What should guests wear?

Guests should dress comfortably and be prepared for Alabama temperatures. Please check the weather forecasts for the day.

Can guests go onto the arena floor?

No. Guests are not permitted on the arena floor at any time.

Will graduates be able to walk across the stage?

Yes. All graduates will walk across the stage and have their name called. No physical contact, including handshakes, is permitted with the stage party. Graduates will receive a copy of The Auburn Creed folder.

Will Photographic Services take photos during graduation?

Yes. Photographic Services will take pictures of each graduate as they process across the stage. Graduates will also have their photo taken at the Jordan-Hare Stadium after their ceremony and with Aubie if they choose. Ceremony photos can be downloaded for free through the commencement website approximately two weeks after commencement. Personal pictures and videos can be taken anytime during the ceremony.

Can guests take photos, flash photography, and videos during the event?

Flash photography and large, free-standing cameras are NOT permitted. Phones and cameras are allowed.

Will anything be handed to the graduates when they cross the stage?

Graduates will receive a copy of The Auburn Creed

How do graduates get their diploma?

Diplomas are mailed to graduates approximately six to eight weeks after commencement. An email is sent to each graduate’s email address once their diploma is shipped.

What can graduates and guests bring into the Auburn Arena and Jordan-Hare Stadium?

All graduates and guests must adhere to The Auburn Athletic venue policies. With exception of umbrellas being permitted, clear bags are optional.

Will there be graduation programs?

Summer Commencement Programs and buttons will be available at all entrances free of charge.

Other items to purchase or pickup?

Flowers will be available to purchase at the main entrance. Commemorative commencement buttons will be available at the entrances, and the AU Bookstore will be open all day.

Will the #AUBURNGRAD sign be available for photos?

The hashtag sign will be available on Samford lawn Saturday, August 7 from 8 am - 6 pm.

Anything else I need to know?

  • EMT’s will be on site during the ceremonies.

  • Please dress appropriately for the weather.

  • Smoking is not permitted inside on university property.

  • All guests must follow the current AU policy regarding face coverings at the time of commencement.
