Students who ordered regalia for the spring commencement and plan to attend the combined ceremony will have regalia for the August ceremonies and do not need to contact the Auburn University Bookstore. Any student who ordered regalia for the spring commencement and does not plan to attend the combined ceremony may request a refund. Deadline for requesting a refund or ordering regalia for summer commencement is Monday, July 6 at midnight.

How do I get my regalia if ordered through the AU Bookstore?

Auburn University will ship regalia directly to students for the commencement ceremonies scheduled for August. Regalia is expected to arrive to customers in late July.

Is the spring 2020 ceremony being rescheduled?

Auburn University’s spring 2020 commencement ceremonies will be combined with Summer commencement on August 8th and August 9th. A ceremony schedule with specific dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

Will graduating students still receive diplomas?

Yes, all students who meet graduation eligibility will have their degrees conferred and will be mailed their diploma in June.

Is there a limit on the number of guests that can accompany a student to graduation?

Due to the space constraints in the Auburn Arena, graduates are asked to please limit their number of guests to six (6).

Will spring graduates receive a refund on regalia if they are unable to attend summer commencement?

Can students receive a Spring Commencement Program?

All spring 2020 graduates will receive a commemorative commencement box in May that contains (1) a copy of the Auburn Creed, (2) a mortarboard, (3) tassel, (4) two printed programs, (5) honor cords (for those who qualified), (6) an Alumni Association pin, and other items.

Will students who earned an Academic Honor Cord still receive it?

Students who choose not to participate in the combined Summer Ceremonies, will receive your academic honor cords as part of the spring graduate gift box along with a mortar board and tassel.

Will students who ordered a Balfour invitation receive a reprint or insert?

Students should contact the Balfour representative, Pearson Alsobrook, directly at for information on invitations.

Are there tickets to graduation?

There are no tickets issued for Commencement, however, graduates are asked to limit their guests to 6. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I rent regalia to take photographs?

Regalia is only available for commencement ceremonies. Students interested in renting regalia for photographs must reserve it and pick it up/return it in August. No regalia will be issued during summer 2020.

Where is the ceremony venue?

Commencement ceremonies are held in the Auburn Arena located on Heisman Drive at 250 Beard-Eaves Court, Auburn, Alabama 36849.

Are tickets required to attend the ceremony?

Tickets are not required to attend the ceremony.

How long does the ceremony last?

A typical ceremony lasts between 1.5-2 hours.

What if I or my family member needs first aid during the ceremony?

EMTs and the Auburn Fire Division maintain personnel in the Auburn Arena to assist with any medical emergencies. The First Aid Station is located on the west side of the main concourse area.

Is there a rehearsal ceremony?

No. Students should arrive to the ceremony at least 45 minutes before the ceremony starts.

What size is the diploma?

Diplomas are 17” (wide) x 13” (high).

Is a minor printed on the diploma?

Minors are not printed on diplomas. Minors are printed on students’ transcripts.

What will my diploma read if I am a double major or concurrent degree student?

Double majors will receive one diploma. Only double majors within the same college and with the same degree title will be reflected on the diploma. All others will reflect both majors on the transcript only. Concurrent degree students will receive two diplomas, one for each degree.

I walked on a Sunday or Monday and my diplomas reads a Saturday date. Is this a mistake?
