Tom Webb
Professor Emeritus

ph:  334-844-6943

Dr. Webb’s research interests lie generally in the field of inorganic chemistry, especially in the area of metal-metal bonded systems.  Several studies from his group have involved identifying Mo2 complexes present in solution and studying the dynamics of interconversion between these species.  He also served a number of years as the departmental crystallographer, and has collaborated with many colleagues in a variety of projects.

His teaching interests include general chemistry and senior- and graduate-level inorganic chemistry courses; specialty topics include group theory and crystallography.  He designed the Honors freshman chemistry course and has taught the course since its inception in 1991.
