1. What do I receive as an AMSTI-trained Science Teacher or Math Teacher?
Upon completion of training, the teacher will receive grade specific resource kits. These kits will be picked up from the AMSTI-AU site by school administrators in August, and delivered to your classroom by school personnel with help from the Lead Teacher.
2. What if items in the kits become broken, damaged, lost or stolen?
At the end of the academic year, a specialist will conduct an inventory of the kit in order to refurbish it for use the following year. Refurbished items might include batteries for calculators, straws, markers, graph paper, and so on. If any items need refurbishing before the end of the academic year, please use a material work order form, and fax it to the AMSTI-AU Materials Manager. Your items will be delivered to you as soon as possible.
3. What should I do if items are missing from my kit when I receive it?
Upon receipt of the kits to your classroom, you should use the packing slip to inventory the supplies in your kit. You will have one week to report any damaged or missing items. A material work order form should be used to report any items of this type, and faxed to the AMSTI-AU Materials Manager, who will ensure that these items will be delivered to you in a timely manner.
4. Do I ever return my kit?
The kits remain in the teacher's classroom to use for as long as he/she is employed by an AMSTI-AU school and still teaching the grade he/she was trained on. If the teacher changes schools or grades, that teacher will need to notify AMSTI-AU so arrangements can be made to have the kit returned to the AMSTI-AU site.
