Christopher Purvis will graduate magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences.

During his time at Auburn, Christopher worked closely with students and academic advisors in the College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM) as the President of Alpha Epsilon Delta and as a Learning Assistant in the Department of Biological Sciences. In addition to these activities, he had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain through COSAM. He is also an active member of a social fraternity and Mortar Board honor society.

As the AED president, Christopher served as the primary means of communication between the pre-health advising office and the Auburn students. Off-campus, he volunteered many hours at Mercy Medical Clinic, a local clinic that provides affordable, compassionate medical care to the financially challenged in the Auburn community. Christopher has also encouraged the community involvement of others by serving as a project coordinator for IMPACT Volunteer Organization.

Christopher has spent the last two years working as a research assistant in the Harrison College of Pharmacy’s Department of Drug Discovery and Development. Under the mentorship of Rajesh Amin, Christopher has presented his research on the gut-brain signaling axis in Alzheimer's disease at the 2021 Boshell Research Day, the 2022 Via Research Recognition Day at VCOM, twice at the Auburn Student Research Symposium, and twice at the COSAM Undergraduate Research Fair.

In his free time, Christopher enjoys golfing, watching Auburn sports, and spending time with his friends and family.

Reflecting on his time at Auburn, Christopher stated, “I am extremely thankful for my time at Auburn COSAM. Without the support of the COSAM faculty and staff, as well as my family and friends, I would not be in the position that I am in today.”

Following graduation from Auburn University, Christopher will be working as a medical technician at Parker Cornea, an internationally renowned ophthalmology facility in Birmingham, Alabama. He will apply to medical school this upcoming summer.
