Real World Petrophysics:

Being a Petrophysicist in the E&P Industry

Petrophysicists come from all backgrounds in the physical sciences and engineering.  Geologists, Petroleum Engineering, Geophysics, and classical Physics could easily find themselves on this rewarding path.  It is an incredibly important piece of the puzzle in finding and developing oil and gas, but many people don’t even hear about petrophysics until they are already in industry.  Please join us for a practical seminar on what it’s like to work in the Oil & Gas industry as a Petrophysicist.  We’ll cover examples from real wells and discuss the application of Petrophysical concepts from exploration to development and from conventional to unconventional.  The basic concepts in interpretation and the exceptions that make the rule.  Petrophysics is the integration of multiple data types from the core, logging, and depositional concepts into a cohesive picture.  We’ll cover this integration through discussing different analytical styles and technologies.  Come ready for a discussion with two experienced industry Petrophysicists.
