2015 Spring Tutoring Begins

Tutoring for Spring 2015 begins on January 20, 2015.

Tutoring is provided in the Drop-In Center Workrooms on Monday-Thursday, 1 pm-5 pm in Room 216 and 218 in the Science Center Classrooms Building. Student tutors provide help in the Biology (1020, 1030, 2500), Chemistry (1010, 1020, 1030, 1040, 1110, 1120, 2030, 2070, 2080), Mathematics (1120, 1150, 1610, 1620, 2630, 2650, 2660), and Physics (1500, 1510, 1600, 1610, 2100, 2200). There is no charge for tutoring.


Tutoring Program Goals

  • To provide tutoring assistance to students and currently enrolled in one of the Science and Mathematics disciplines.
  • To keep track of the students’ progress to ensure that the tutoring sessions are effective.
  • To keep a record of each student tutored and the subject area(s) tutored to compile necessary data for analysis.


How to Identify and Select a Tutor

In the office of 235 SCC, there is a list of tutors for specific courses and the times they are scheduled to tutor those subjects. Match a tutor for a course you are taking with your available hours and report to SCC 216 or 218 at those hours. There is no limit to the number of hours you can be tutored, as long as a tutor is available.
