SCB gets behind-the-scenes tour at Zoo Atlanta

Auburn University’s chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) traveled to Zoo Atlanta on January 28, 2012. Guided by DBS alum David Brothers (former Zoology major), the 22 participants got to see the facility where Southeastern Indigo Snakes are being raised for release in South Alabama (we’re invited to the next release on May 5!), were taken into the back rooms of the Reptile House, and got a chance to enter the Aldabran Giant Tortoise area to pet these 100-year old plus reptiles (the largest weighed 550 lbs!). We then had a couple hours to tour the public exhibits.
