Auburn University’s chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) joined with Wild Animal Safari (Pine Mountain, Georgia) at the COSAM Open House held Wednesday, August 24. Two species of African wildcats (a caracal and a serval), an albino Burmese python, a baby American alligator and several Madagascar hissing cockroaches were brought by Wild Animal Safari to the SCB table at the Open House. The Open House helps students learn about COSAM’s student organizations, and is organized by the school’s Student Services staff. The animals helped generate interest and excitement for the upcoming semester’s activities by our department’s conservation group.
