Title: Local time-stepping algorithms for multiscale multiphysics flow simulations
Abstract: In this talk, we present numerical solution methods for multiscale multiphysics problems in which different time step sizes can be used in different parts of the domain. In particular, we consider two approaches to enforce local time stepping: one is based on explicit methods, and the other is based on implicit methods and space-time domain decomposition. Mathematical analysis, as well as application of these approaches in fluid dynamics, will be discussed.
