Time: Aug 22, 2016 (03:00 PM)
Location: TBA

Details:

Speaker: David Lipham

Abstract. A widely-connected set is a connected set that is irreducible between every two of its points. The object of this paper is the construction of widely-connected subsets of the plane. We give a completely metrizable example that answers a question of Paul Erdős and Howard Cook. A similar example answers a question of Jerzy Mioduszewski.

On Monday we will also discuss whether or not 3pm is good long term for set theoretic topology seminar.   If not, we would try changing to 4pm.
