The inaugural Schneller Frontiers Lecture will be held Friday, March 4 at 4 pm, in the Sciences Center Auditorium. Melanie Sanford, of the University of Michigan, will give the talk, "Recent Developments in Transition Metal Catalyzed C-H Functionalization." Her research involves developing new chemical reactions that enable the production of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and fuels in a more efficient and environmentally friendly manner.

Refreshments will be served prior to the lecture at 3:30 pm in the Chemistry Building Lobby.

The Schneller Frontiers Lectureship is endowed by Stewart Schneller, of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and his wife. The event recognizes international pioneers in chemistry and biochemistry.
