Research & Teaching Interests
My
research focuses on the function and evolution of ornamental traits in birds and
on the ecology and conservation of birds in the southeast. Research on these
broad topics has led my students and me to adopt approaches ranging from
behavioral ecology and phylogenetics to immunology, parasitology, molecular
ecology, and spatial ecology. I teach ornithology, evolution, as well as
graduate special topics classes.Recent Publications
