Q. What makes the Donald E. Davis Arboretum different from others?
The Davis Arboretum is home to the world’s most complete collection of Alabama’s native trees.

Q. Where is the Arboretum located?
The Arboretum is located just south of the AU president’s home on the corner of South College and Garden Street.

Q. How big is the Arboretum?
There are slightly more than 13 acres of space and approximately two miles of walking paths.

Q. When is the Arboretum open and to whom?
The Arboretum is open to anyone, except pets, during daylight hours everyday of the year.

Q. Can I reserve the Arboretum for an event?
Yes, go to Weddings and Special Events to find more information.

Q. Can you picnic at the Arboretum?
The Arboretum is a perfect setting for a picnic.  There are picnic tables available, benches and covered arbors, or just spread your blanket. on the ground.  All we ask is that you please help us keep our facility clean by putting trash in the trash receptacles or taking it with you.

Q. How much does it cost to get into the Arboretum?
There is no charge.

Q. Do you sell plants?
No, but some of our common species such as Eastern red cedars,  Kentucky coffee tree,  Red buds and Yaupon hollies are gifted to special donors upon request.
