The following courses are normally taken by graduate students pursuing a degree in Statistics. Students are encouraged to find an advisor as early as possible. The final list of courses in a plan of study must be approved by the student's graduate study committee.
For MPS:
Year 1. Fall: 6110, 7000, 7600. Spring: 7010, 7610
Year 2. Fall: 7020, 7030, 7620. Spring: 7840, 7980
For MS:
Year 1. Fall: 6110, 7000, 7600. Spring: 7010, 7610
Year 2. Fall: 7020, 7030, 7620. Spring: 7840, 7990
For PhD:
Year 1. Fall: 7000 (or 7020), 7600, (math a1). Spring: 7010, 7610, (math a2).
Year 2. Fall: 7620, 7030, (math b1). Spring: 7800, 7840, (math b2)
Comments.
1. Students with some statistical background can skip STAT 7000 and take STAT 7020 directly in Fall of the first year.
2. A student usually takes 3 courses in a regular semester.
3. The courses for a PhD student after two years should be discussed with his/her advisor.
4. In the courses for PhD students, math a1/a2 and b1/b2 indicate two year-long courses for preliminary exams.
