Position: Actuarial Intern
Actuaries from Alfa Insurance were on campus on Monday, March 4, to conduct interviews for a summer internship in Montgomery.
The actuarial internship position at Alfa is an opportunity to see the practical application of actuarial skill sets in a company setting. You would work in a small department performing various tasks to support the work of the company’s actuaries, while learning more about the profession through frequent discussions with the chief actuary and his staff. In addition, you may spend some time in other departments to see how the actuary fits into the overall picture.
Candidates should be good with Excel. Knowledge of Access and specialized knowledge (such as generalized linear modeling, familiarity with SAS, etc.) will give a candidate the best chance to get maximum value from the experience.
