The Tri-Beta Honor Society organizes a bat walk every year in the month of October. This is a public event that any individual may attend, and children especially seem to love. The program begins with an informative presentation on bats which is viewed in the pavilion on a large projection screen. This is followed by an up close look at some bats that are brought and handled by professionals that are used to working with these animals.
Then, the search begins! Everyone walks around the Arboretum trying to locate these creatures. This event always has a huge turnout and generates a lot of excitement. With Halloween just around the corner, the Annual Bat Walk really helps to spark the spooky holiday mood.
