Happy New Year to all students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM). As we begin 2019, it gives us an opportunity to reflect on our heritage and appreciate our past. For decades, the foundation of today’s COSAM has been filled with notable leaders who have made significant contributions throughout the years. This rich history has shaped COSAM leaving a lasting impact on Auburn University and far beyond, and is important to record for future generations.

A new history project is now underway to document our college and will include information showcasing the history of COSAM. Our goal is to collect and share photographs and stories in all forms (written, aural, and video) from all the departments that are now part of COSAM. Examples include memorabilia from former COSAM faculty and students such as Roger Allen, class of 1918 and Dean of Science and Literature from 1941-1967. Former student Jack Crenshaw, who was involved in the key planning stages of Project Apollo, will also share his memories of former faculty Jack Carr and Fred Allison.

We need your help to make this project as complete and comprehensive as possible. Please contact me directly to share your ideas, suggestions and memories. Or, you can use this online form to provide your contact information and personal stories about the history of the college.
