Mark Liles has received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Northwestern University. He is currently serving as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, COSAM at Auburn University, Alabama. His research is primarily interests in three areas: 1) Metagenomic Analysis of Microbial Assemblages, 2) Biological Control of Disease using Beneficial Microorganisms and 3) Pathogenesis and Control of virulent Aeromonas Hydrophila. Dr. Liles is also co-founder to several corporations, including Terra Bioworks and Varigen Biosciences. He was awarded to Marguerite Scharnagel Endowed Professor in 2020. He has advised numerous Ph.D./M.S. students and served on numerous interdisciplinary Ph.D./M.S. graduate committees. He received his bachelors degree in Bilogy at Tulane University.
