Corinne Staheli, a native Floridian, is a coordinator in the Office of Development. Learn more about her in this COSAM Staff Spotlight:

Q: What year did you start at COSAM?
A: I started as a TES employee in August of 2017 and was hired in a permanent role in January of 2018.

Q: What is the best advice you have ever received at COSAM and from whom?
A: The best advice that I have received was from the COSAM IT, when something doesn’t work try restarting. This is advice that can be applied to other areas in life, even outside of computers. When something isn't working, restart your mind/thoughts, and try to think about a new way to fix the problem.

Q: Where are you originally from?
A: I was born in Daytona Beach, FL and grew up in the surrounding areas.

Q: What words best describe you?
A: Analytical. Receptive. Passionate.

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I enjoy finding new recipes on Pinterest to try out with my husband. We meal prep our lunches and dinners every Sunday and are always trying to find interesting types/genres of food to try out. In my free time, I am pretty dedicated to going to CrossFit. I was introduced to CrossFit 6 years ago and it has been a workout routine that I have loved and been able to keep up with over the years. The fall is usually a very busy time for me because my husband and I (both UF alumni) are season ticket holders for Florida Gator Football. We try to make it down to Gainesville for every home game and the notorious Florida vs. Georgia game in Jacksonville.

Q: What is the one thing you do when no one is around?
A: Snuggle with my dog and watch TV.

Q: What is your favorite place on campus?
A: The Arboretum, especially when the fall leaves are changing colors.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Q: What is your dream travel destination?
A: I would love to explore more of Europe. I have traveled to Germany many times throughout my life, but have not had the opportunity to venture out to the other countries. My mother was born in Germany, so most of our time there is spent with all of our family.

Q: What is your most memorable experience at COSAM?
A: Watching the total solar eclipse in 2017. I learned some very interesting facts about solar eclipses from the various COSAM faculty and students that were out there that day.

Q: If you could trade places with anyone at COSAM for just one day, who would it be and why?
A: I would love to trade places with one of our COSAM professors. I think it would be fun to see how they interact with our students and what it is like to teach a class today, especially since it has been a while since I was in college.
