The Dr. Dean G. Hoffman Endowed Graduate Award has been established by Dr. Hoffman’s family in his honor. The first award will be made in Fall 2023. The endowment agreement states

This endowment will be served in the spirit of Dr. Hoffman and his mentors, whose belief is that mathematics is a social practice and that it is imperative for mathematicians to collaborate in-person with other mathematicians around the world. Thus, this endowment will be awarded annually to a graduate student in Discrete Mathematics at Auburn University who is on their mathematical adventure.
