What is required? A minimum of 2h of undergraduate research (SCMH 4980, BIOL 4980, or other department research course) is required in some BMSC majors (MBMS, DBMS, OBMS) while optional in others. However, up to 6h of research may be taken for credit.
Why is it helpful? It helps toward development of scientific reasoning, technical skills, in-depth understanding of health-related field, potential for authorship on scientific publication, etc.
