College of Sciences and Mathematics - Biology Department

College of Sciences and Mathematics - Biology Department is seeking researchers to engage in biology education research aimed to make biology accessible to all. Examples of research include investigations into the impact of role models in biology, how bias/discrimination shapes current and historical science, student help-seeking behavior, and loads more. Generally students work in groups to qualitatively code written responses to survey questions. We have published several papers with undergraduates and welcome their contributions through the publication process. We are interested in hosting students who could commit to a year of research. 

Majors Considered: Applied Mathematics, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Genetics, Geography, Geology,Laboratory Science, Marine Biology, Mathematics, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbial, Cellular, and Molecular Biology, Organismal Biology, Physics
