Graduating students must fill out the Diploma Online Application. Enrollment in UNIV-4AA0 is required to gain access to the application. The following directions will assist in completing your application:
NOTE: If the diploma name you enter on your diploma on-line application indicates a name that does not match the name listed on your academic record in Banner, then you must provide the Graduation Section of the Office of the Registrar with a copy of the official document (marriage license, divorce decree, driver’s license, passport) that indicates the name change.
Register for graduation course (UNIV-4AA0) for graduation term.
Graduate Students – the Graduate School will register you for the graduation course.
Complete Diploma Online Application.
Order cap and gown, if attending ceremony, from the Auburn University Bookstore
Check ceremony date, time and location information.
Make sure all outstanding university obligations are resolved prior to graduation day.
Check your Auburn University e-mail account regularly throughout your graduation term for any graduation information.

October 9 – Graduation Course Enrollment Deadline
Must be enrolled in UNIV-4AA0 graduation course to officially be on the term’s graduation list
December 15 – Diploma Name and Diploma Address Deadline
Final deadline to submit diploma data (diploma name and mailing address) on the Diploma Online Application
January 11, 2019 – Outstanding Work Deadline
Must finalize any outstanding work (transient work, Incomplete and/or NR grades, etc.) needed to meet degree requirements for Fall 2018.
Awarding of Degrees
The degree audit occurs after the graduation ceremonies. Degrees are awarded about 5 – 7 business days after graduation.
Additional Fees Associated with Graduation:
Undergraduate students with a minimum overall grade average of 3.40 are graduated Cum Laude; a 3.60 Magna Cum Laude; and a 3.80 Summa Cum Laude.
Cum Laude - 3.4 - 3.594 (3.395 rounds) - Unadjusted Institution GPA
Magna Cum Laude - 3.6 - 3.794 (3.595 rounds) - Unadjusted Institution GPA
Summa Cum Laude - 3.8 - on up (3.795 rounds) - Unadjusted Institution GPA
The official honor designation is placed on the student's diploma and transcript.
Auburn University will issue one gold honor cord per degree to any undergraduate who has met the honor requirements stated above.
Honor designations of the graduates listed in the commencement program (booklet) are for the purposes of the program and do not represent a final certification of honors. At the time of printing, the highest potential honor that a student could earn is printed in the program.
