Bats, much like humans, are exposed to the risks of cohabitation when it comes to sharing germs. Molly Simonis, an Auburn University assistant professor of disease ecology and avid bat researcher in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment (CFWE) and the College of Veterinary Medicine, has been working to identify the major factors contributing to zoonotic disease transmission across different species, with a special focus on bats.

For Jada Conner and Brody Church, research at Auburn is more than preparation for medical school. Since launching Healthy Fluid Milk Incentives (HFMI) in 2022, Hunger Solutions Institute (HSI) in Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences has built a successful track record of developing and testing methods to increase the purchase and consumption of qualifying fluid milk by Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) households. HSI will continue this work throughout the next three years with the award of a recent cooperative agreement totaling $2.99 million.
