Awards and Scholarships

The Auburn University Chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi presents awards and/or scholarships.

Awards presented by the chapter during the Fall Semester each year are as follows:

Outstanding Second Year Award
The second year students attaining the highest scholastic record on a University-wide basis is selected at the Fall Semester Business Meeting and recognized at the Fall Semester Initiation and Awards Ceremony. Students are selected from those completing a minimum of 60 semester hours during the previous two academic years (Fall and Spring Semesters and/or Summer Terms). All academic work must have been done at Auburn University.

Outstanding First Professional Year Student Award
The first year professional student achieving the highest scholastic record in each academic college or school is selected at the Fall Semester Business Meeting and recognized at the Fall Semester Initiation and Awards Ceremony. Students are selected from those completing a minimum of 30 semester hours either during the previous Fall and Spring Semesters and/or Summer Term. All academic work must have been done at Auburn University.

Awards presented by the chapter during the Spring Semester each year are as follows:

Susan Stacy Entrenkin Yates Award
Presented annually to outstanding junior students at Auburn University. These awards are named in memory of the mother of Mr. S. Blake Yates, a long-time member of the Auburn University Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. Criteria include scholarship, activities, honors, and character. The nominated student must have completed a minimum of 61 credit hours by the end of Fall Semester of the academic year of nomination, be considered a junior in his or her academic major, and have a minimum 3.69 GPA. Nominations should be made by Auburn University faculty members who have knowledge of the student's academic performance. Two letters of recommendation by faculty who taught the student must accompany the nomination.

Phi Kappa Phi/Current-Garcia Award in Humanities
This award is presented annually to the outstanding senior student who majored in Humanities at Auburn University with a minimum 3.69 GPA. Graduates for the previous Summer term, Fall and Spring Semesters are eligible. Humanities includes majors in art, English, foreign languages and literatures, history, philosophy, music, theatre, and graphic design. Criteria for the award are outstanding scholarship, activities, honors, and character. Nominations should be made by Auburn University faculty members who have knowledge of the student's academic performance. Two letters of recommendation by faculty members who taught the student must accompany the nomination.

Phi Kappa Phi Most Outstanding Senior Scholar Award
Presented annually to the most outstanding senior student at Auburn University. Criteria include scholarship, activities, honors, character, and a minimum 3.69 GPA. Graduates for the previous Summer Semester, Fall Semester, and current Spring Semester are eligible for the award. Nominations should be made by Auburn University faculty members who have knowledge of the student's academic performance. Two letters of recommendation by faculty members who taught the student must accompany the nomination.

Jewell Eubanks Scholarships
Presented annually to current students who are active members of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Each scholarship is for one academic year.
