Genetics major Jarious Avery selected for UAB and HudsonAlpha’s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience in Genomic Medicine

Jarious Avery is making plans for an exciting summer experience and is eager to apply his genetics training to a prestigious internship at an internationally-renowned biotechnology institute.

A junior majoring in genetics in the College of Sciences of Mathematics, or COSAM, Avery is one of 12 scholars selected to attend the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience in Genomic Medicine, or SURE-GM, at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville.

COSAM postdoctoral scientist selected for first COSAM Dean’s Research Award and wins 2022 Laboratory Astrophysics Division Dissertation Prize

“I am extremely proud that COSAM is recognizing our growing community of postdoctoral scientists and Steve is the first recipient of the 2021-2022 Dean’s Research Award for Postdoctoral Scientist,” said Mark Liles, acting associate dean for research and graduate studies in COSAM. “It is important for our college to highlight the accomplishments of postdocs who make significant contributions to research and serve as mentors to students.”

Madison Hogans leaves impressive mark at Auburn, receives SGA Student Award, Dean’s Medal and Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award

Madison Hogans has left quite her mark on Auburn University - without a doubt, inspiring others along the impressive path of her academic journey.

Hogans will graduate in May with a bachelor of science degree in biomedical sciences with a   concentration in pre-med and a minor in human development and family studies.
