Meet COSAM Researchers Working with Marvelous Metals

“National Chemistry Week increases the awareness of the entire field of chemistry,” explained Dr. Curtis Shannon, Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. “Undergraduate students who pursue a degree in chemistry develop a solid foundation that provides an advantage to more advanced training such as pre-health, graduate school, and professional schools.” Learn about the impact researchers in COSAM are making.

COSAM Alumna Working to Improve Soil Fertility Back at Auburn as a Young Professor in the College of Agriculture

“Much of my research is focused on soil fertility – determining how to best apply fertilizers to maximize crop nutrient uptake and minimize environmental loss of nutrients,” Gamble explained. “We want to provide farmers with recommendations for rates, sources and timing of application of fertilizer, so that we can increase revenue for farmers while preventing environmental pollution.” Read more about this COSAM alumna
