Dean's Medal: Biological Sciences

Bryanna Meredith will graduate summa cum laudeas an Organismal Biology major with a Pre-Veterinary concentration. As a pre-vet major, she has focused on gaining clinical experience including a job at a local mixed animal private practice, a summer position at UAB’s Animal Resources Program, and an internship at the North Carolina Zoo’s Valerie H. Schindler Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Most recently, she worked full-time as the summer veterinary assistant forthe Division of Laboratory Animal Health under Dr. Pat Rynders and Dr. Bettina Schemera, where she was in charge of monitoring the health status of various research animal species across Auburn’s campus. She has also dedicated much of her undergraduate career to the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association,

serving as Historian followed by two consecutive terms as President, where she supported a better relationship between the club and COSAM and introduced the topic of mental health in the veterinary field to club members. She also served as the Outreach Committee Chair for the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association 2018 Symposium held at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Despite her scientific background, she also has a special interest in writing, supported by her English Literature minor and her position as Lead Consultant at Auburn’s Miller Writing Center. She is also a regular volunteer with Lee County Humane Society. She will be attending North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in the fall as a member of the class of 2024, where she will be pursuing their laboratory animal medicine track.
