Brady Unzicker

Dean's Medal: Physics 

Brady Unzicker will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a minor in Theatre as a University Honors Scholar. For his academic accomplishments, Brady was awarded the COSAM Outstanding Junior and an Auburn University Undergraduate Research Fellowship in 2019, as well as being named an Astronaut Scholar by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. For the past two years, he has done research in the Auburn Source of Attosecond Pulses Laboratory with Dr. Guillaume Laurent. During this time, Brady has developed methods to control the motion of electrons within atoms and molecules. He has presented this work at the American Physical Society's 86th annual meeting of the Southeastern Section, and he will also be presenting at DAMOP 2020 in June.

Brady Unzicker

Brady also has a passion for teaching—he has been an undergraduate teaching assistant for over 300 students in the Department of Physics’ introductory sequences and is the Evaluation Director for Alabama Future Problem Solving. In his free time, Brady enjoys Auburn football games, kayaking, and writing and performing stage plays. After graduation, he will attend graduate school as he begins the journey to be a professor of physics at a major research institution.
