Auburn University Salary Savings Program 

The Salary Savings Program helps eligible nine-month employees at Auburn University and Auburn University at Montgomery spread a portion of their earnings over the summer months. Through a partnership with Auburn University Credit Union (AUCU), employees can elect to have a designated amount deducted from each paycheck and deposited into a savings account for future distribution.

The program is convenient, flexible, and free to participate in.

Program Highlights

• Enroll through AUCU. Employees who wish to participate must complete a Payroll Deduction Authorization with AUCU. Participants must have an AUCU account. For more information or to open an account, contact AUCU at 844-4120 or 888-899-2112.
• Choose your savings amount. Participants select the amount they would like deducted from each semi-monthly paycheck. Funds are deposited directly into the employee's designated AUCU account and may earn interest depending on the account selected.
• Maintain access to your funds. Participants retain ownership and control of their account and may access their savings at any time if needed.
• Determine your distribution schedule. Employees can arrange to receive their saved funds during the summer months, helping extend income over a twelve-month period.
• Enjoy flexibility. Employees may begin or discontinue participation in the program as needed, subject to AUCU processing timelines.

Use the Salary Savings Calculator

Auburn University and AUCU provide a Salary Savings Program Calculator to help employees determine an appropriate deduction amount.

1. In Self-Service Banner, select the Employee tab and locate the Salary Savings Program Calculator.
2. The calculator displays your current net pay based on 18 semi-monthly pay periods during a nine-month appointment.
3. The calculator estimates the amount you would need to save each pay period to distribute your earnings over 24 semi-monthly pay periods (12 months).
4. After determining your desired deduction amount, complete a Payroll Deduction Authorization and submit it to AUCU.
