Angela Wiley - Bio
As Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, Dr. Angela Wiley advances the university’s academic mission by supporting faculty welfare and success, stewarding the policies and processes outlined in the Faculty Handbook, and leading faculty-focused initiatives that strengthen the academic community.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Wiley served as Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness from July 2025 to January 2026. In that position, she partnered with campus units to develop data-informed strategies, coordinate enterprise information systems, and enhance institutional knowledge in support of continuous improvement. Before joining the Provost’s Office, Dr. Wiley was professor and head of the Department of Human Development and Family Science in the College of Human Sciences, where she guided the department through multiple national academic and early learning center accreditations.
Before coming to Auburn, Dr. Wiley spent 22 years at the University of Illinois, building a strong record in research, teaching, and extension. Her scholarship centers on family resilience, health disparities in Hispanic communities, and program development and evaluation. She has co-directed several federally funded initiatives, including the USDA-supported Abriendo Caminos program to improve the health of Hispanic children and families.
Dr. Wiley holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Clark University and a B.A. in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Miami University in Ohio.
