Research and Teaching Interests

Research

Rogers’ research investigates emerging geospatial technologies to push the boundaries of efficiency in data collection and management through innovation and development, while analyzing datasets using cutting-edge analytical methodologies to better understand human-environmental issues across disciplines. Rogers runs the GeoIDEA (Geospatial Innovation, Development, and Environmental Applications) Lab where her and her team conduct multidisciplinary research spanning the topics of GIScience, geographic data collection, spatiotemporal modeling of water quality and contamination, wastewater infrastructure improvements and prioritization. Her research program is currently supported by the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium (through NOAA), the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES), and USDA Rural Development.
