Our residence halls are staffed by a diverse team of undergraduate students (Resident Assistants), graduate students (Graduate Area Coordinators), and professional staff. Our central office is located in Burton Hall, 305 West Samford.

Virginia A. Koch, Ph.D. , Director

Dr. Koch has more than 25 years of experience in higher education and residence life. A native Ohioan with southern roots in Tennessee, Dr. Koch earned her Ph.D. in higher education from Loyola University Chicago and MA in student personnel services from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Maureen Young, Assistant Director

Ms. Young is originally from New Orleans, LA where she completed an undergraduate degree at the University of New Orleans. In 2005 Ms. Young began serving as a graduate Hall Director and was promoted to Area Director in 2009. She began serving as Assistant Director in summer 2014. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University.

Jessica Koehler, Ph.D., Area Director

Dr. Jessica Koehler is originally from Flowery Branch, Georgia and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 2008. Dr. Koehler earned a Master’s degree in Family and Child Sciences in 2010 from Florida State University. She served as a graduate hall director for two years while completing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Auburn. Prior to graduating in August 2014, she began serving as an Area Director.

Niccole Larnell, Area Director

Ms. Larnell is a native of East Saint Louis, Illinois. She completed her undergraduate degree at Talladega College and earned her Master’s in Public Administration from Jacksonville State University. Ms. Larnell joined the Auburn family in the summer of 2012 and is currently supervising the summer hall staff.

Caroline Bush, Administrative Assistant

Caroline Bush is originally from Selma, Alabama. She moved to Auburn as a freshman and hasn’t left! Caroline graduated from Auburn University in 2009 with a degree is Human Resource Management. While in college she meet her husband Allen. They have one son named Ellis and two labs named Taylor and Abbie.

Brigitte Burpo

Brigitte is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Tuskegee University. Brigitte is currently working towards her Master’s in Higher Education Administration. Ms. Burpo serves at the Graduate Area Coordinator for Village North.

Kim Dixon

Kim is originally from Mobile, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate degrees in psychology and sociology at the University of West Alabama. She is currently a graduate student in the college of education. She is married to her husband, Brandon, and they have one son, Luke. Mrs. Dixon serves as the Graduate Area Coordinator for Village South.

Amanda Fishman

Amanda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Health Science from Stetson University. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at Auburn. Ms. Fishman serves as the Graduate Area Coordinator for Hill East.

Michelle Fox

Michelle is originally from Anchorage, Alaska. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology from Washington State University. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ms. Fox serves as the Graduate Area Coordinator for the Lower Quad.

Hayley Hinote

Hayley is a native of Pace, Florida. She graduated from Troy University in May of 2014 with her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Human Resource Management. She also holds double minors in Leadership Studies and Broadcast Journalism. While at Troy University, Hayley worked as a Resident Assistant for three years. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Ms. Highnote serves as the Graduate Area Coordinator for Hill West.

Katherine Ray

Katherine is originally from Huntsville, Alabama. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Secondary Education from the University of North Alabama where she served as a Resident Assistant for three years. During the last five years, she taught English in Japan and then moved to Wetumpka, Alabama to teach Life Sciences. She is pursuing a Master’s in Biology Education. Ms. Ray serves as the Graduate Area Coordinator for the Upper Quad.

Hayley Spencer

Hayley is originally from Toccoa, Georgia and completed her undergraduate degree at Georgia Southern University. She worked in Human Resources at Koch Industries, Inc. in Atlanta before moving to Auburn to pursue her Master’s in Higher Education Aministration. Ms. Spencer serves as the Administrative Graduate Assistant for Residence Life.

Trey Weber

Trey is originally from Edmond, Oklahoma and he completed his undergraduate degree at Birmingham-Southern College. He currently is pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Mr. Weber serves at the Graduate Area Coordinator for South Donahue.

Kseniya "Susha" Zhuzha

Susha immigrated to the United States from Ukraine ten years ago. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Union College in Schenectady, NY. She is currently in her third year of counseling psychology doctoral program and has worked with Residence Life since fall of 2012.​ Ms. Zhuzha serves at the Graduate Area Coordinator for Cambridge.
