Auburn University is a member of the Southeastern Conference and currently fields 21 NCAA Division 1-A athletic teams. The mission of the Office of Greek Life is to improve the quality of student life at Auburn University and to support fraternal ideals by assisting the fraternity and sorority councils, chapters, officers and members in developing a community that challenges its members to live and lead according to their own organization's creeds and principles. The University Program Council (UPC) is Auburn's largest student activity project. UPC provides entertainment for the entire
campus in the form of major concerts, lectures, free blockbuster and outdoor movies, comedians, plays and inflatable games.
UPC produces over 100 special events each year including Tigermaina, Splash into Spring and Tiger Nights, the most successful
late-night programming event in the nation. All events are programmed by twelve student committees, which are led by student
directors and assistants.
