Auburn University Research Instrumentation Facility
Services and Fees
AURIF currently houses a Zeiss EM 10 Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), a Zeiss EVO 50 Variable Pressure Scanning Electron Microscope (VPSEM) with EDS, a Nikon A1 Confocal Scanning Laser Microscope, a Zeiss Axiovert 200 Inverted Fluorescence Microscope, an ABI 7500 Real Time PCR unit, a GE ImageQuant LAS 4010 Fluorescence Imager, and a ABI BAX Q7 imaging workstation. A Nikon AZ100 Multizoom Fluorescence/Dissection workstation and a MMI Cellcut Laser Microdissection workstation with a Caliper Nuance Multi-Spectral imaging camera system are also available but housed elsewhere. A large array of support and specimen preparation equipment are also available within the facility. Training is a big part of what we do and is available on all pieces of facility equipment.
The AURIF is open from 7:45 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. (Monday-Friday) but other times are available by prior arrangement with the AURIF Director. Those who have not used the facility recently, or those that have never been to the facility before are welcome to stop by or schedule an appointment to discuss the details of your specific project. Samples are accepted by pre-arrangement only. Self-service use of the facility is welcomed any time and is highly encouraged. Most time and resources are devoted to AU projects but, as time permits, projects from outside AU will be accepted.
For a price quote on services, to schedule an appointment, to reserve a piece of equipment, or for more information about our facility, please contact Dr. Michael Miller at email@example.com or by phone at either (334) 844-1654 (office) or (334) 844-1640 (lab).
