What is the AU Student Pharmacy?
The AU Student Pharmacy is owned and operated by the Harrison School of Pharmacy, a non for profit organization. The pharmacy has been in operation since 1996.

Who is eligible to use the Student Pharmacy?
The AU Student Pharmacy serves only Auburn University students. We are a “closed” pharmacy which means we do not see the public.

What are the hours of the AU Student Pharmacy?
The Pharmacy hours are Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Thurs 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and Sat 9:00 am -12:00 pm during the fall and spring semesters. Summer hours are Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The pharmacy is closed on Sundays.

Does the pharmacy close when class is not in session?
The AU Student Pharmacy is open during class breaks such as spring break or fall break. It does close for major holidays and is only open select days during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks.

Where is the AU Student Pharmacy located?
The pharmacy is located inside the AU Medical Center on 400 Lem Morrison Drive. It is also on the Tiger Transit route.

What forms are needed to use the pharmacy?
We have a new patient form that all new patients will need to complete (insert link here). This is not the same form used by the Medical Clinic. We do not share patient information between the Medical Clinic and AU Student Pharmacy.

What prescription insurance plans are accepted at the pharmacy?
The AU Student Pharmacy accepts most major insurance plans. Here are a few examples:

How does the cost of medication compare to other pharmacies?
Insurance plans dictate a patient’s co-pay and rarely vary from pharmacy to pharmacy except in cases where there are preferred pharmacies (for example, we are the preferred pharmacy for the AU Student Insurance). For patients without insurance or for medication not covered by insurance, the pharmacy offers competitive pricing options, but does not match $4.00 list pricing.

Can the pharmacy fill a prescription from any doctor?
The pharmacy can fill a prescription from any physician in state or out of state.

How do I transfer my medications from my current pharmacy to AU Student Pharmacy?
Simply let the AU Student Pharmacy staff know where your prescriptions are (which pharmacy and phone number of the pharmacy) and the staff will contact your current pharmacy to have your prescriptions transferred for you.

What if I need to reach a pharmacist when the AU Student Pharmacy is closed?
The pharmacy has a pharmacist on-call 24 hours a day for after-hours emergencies. Please call the pharmacist on-call so they can assist you with your prescription needs.

What services are offered at the AU Student Pharmacy?
The pharmacy offers smoking cessation counseling and crutch rental.

What payment options are accepted at AU Student Pharmacy?
The pharmacy accepts:

Can I use my E-Bill to purchase prescriptions at AU Student Pharmacy?
Yes, you may use your E-Bill to purchase prescriptions and over the counter products.

Do you deliver?
We deliver to student’s offices on-campus.

Do you carry OTC (over-the-counter) products?
Yes, we carry OTC products. If you see something we don’t have in stock, let a pharmacy staff member know and if it is available, we can have it in stock the next business day.

Who works in the pharmacy?
The pharmacy is staffed with full time pharmacists and technicians. There are also pharmacy students and student workers who are a part of our regular staff. They are all held to federal HIPAA standards in regards to patient’s privacy and undergo HIPAA training before beginning employment.

What about confidentiality?
All PHI (Protected Health Information) about our patients are strictly confidential. Information will not be released without an authorization from the patient, except by court order.
