B.Pharm. - Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, 2003
M.Sc. of Clinical Pharmacy - Ain Shams University, 2010

Research Areas:

  • Pharmaceutical Care in oncology settings
  • Factors affecting Erythropoietin usage in hemodialysis patients
  • The need for and Services presented by Drug Information Centers in Egypt

My contact with the students as a teaching assistant and assistant lecturer for 11 years in courses of Pharmacy Practice, Community Pharmacy, and Drug Information at Egyptian Universities is the main motivation for me to pursue graduate studies abroad. The students' need to have mentors in research area of Administrative Sciences in Pharmacy urged me to search for ways to develop the background and confidence to undertake creative and productive research.

My objective is to study the Social and Behavioral Theory concerned with Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Education. Therefore, I Joined the Health Outcome Research and Policy (HORP), the program that provides integration of pharmaceuticals together with principles from psychology, sociology, economics, and other disciplines. This diversity of the program, together with broad range of expertise of the program faculty matched exactly my wide range of interests.

Finally, my aim is to be able to perform good quality research leading to new knowledge. My future plan is to work in an academic setting affiliated with a health care facility. I want to fulfill my dream of being a good professor; therefore I need to have the independent, theory-based research skills together with the ability to evaluate research endeavors. I know that one day, with the help of the HORP program at Auburn University, I would be that professor who inspires students in their professional and academic careers.
