Dodey Roughton, RN is a clinical nurse in the State Wellness Center. In her position, she provides professional nursing support as well as direct patient care. She triages patients, administers injections, collects labs, and coordinates medical care with other providers as needed. As team lead of the nursing staff, she is also responsible for administrative duties such as nurse scheduling and ordering of clinic supplies.
Roughton received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University at Montgomery in 1999. Prior to coming to the State Wellness Center, she worked for Baptist Health in Montgomery where she worked in numerous areas to include the orthopedic/urology floor, OR, Emergency Department, Education, and Case Management. She has served as staff nurse, charge nurse, and educator. Roughton also worked for Jackson Hospital in Montgomery where she served as ER Educator and Mission Excellence Coordinator. The majority of her career has been spent in emergency medicine and she holds a national certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse.
Roughton is married with two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, crafting, and serving in her church.
