Office of International Programs To Create ‘Global Teaching Academy’

AUBURN – The Office of International Programs is creating a ‘Global Teaching Academy’ to recognize and celebrate exceptional teaching in an international context.

One role of this Teaching Academy will be to facilitate international course offerings on campus, complementing the recent growth of study abroad courses and exchange programs offered overseas.

The Academy will also assist in creating an academic International minor for those students not currently served by an international concentration within their disciplines.

Nominations and self-nominations for the inaugural class are invited from tenure-track faculty. It is anticipated that each year the Academy would add five to six faculty, recognized for their international teaching, and these faculty would help lead Auburn's efforts in internationalization of the curriculum. The Office of International Programs would also provide these faculty with modest support for international travel. Faculty need simply to provide a CV that highlights their teaching of international content, either on-campus or overseas.
