National Social Work Enrichment Program Scholars (NSEP)

For the past four years with exception to last year, Venus Hewing from CEOE has collaborated with the Office of Admissions to host National Social Work Enrichment Program Scholars (NSEP) consisting of rising juniors, seniors and high school graduates transitioning from Foster Care. The founder and Director of NSEP, Dr. Sebreena Jackson, operates the program for a period of six weeks each summer at the University of Alabama. The purpose of the program is to expose the students to the field of Social Work and other disciplines, encourage them to enroll in college and to develop life, employment and leadership skills.
