Provost Vini Nathan has named Dr. Ash Abebe, William P. Molette Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics (DMS), as the Interim Dean of the Auburn University Graduate School, effective October 15, 2025.

Dr. Abebe has served with distinction as department chair for more than five years. He has overseen tremendous growth of the department, with over 20 faculty hired during his tenure, as well as expansion of the research portfolio of DMS to over $2 million dollars. Most importantly, he has accomplished all of this while earning the deep admiration of just about everyone in COSAM.
