Dr. Jessica McDonald has received a new National Science Foundation award, DMS-2452103 - Colourings and Flows in Graphs. The project runs from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2028 with total funding of $264,871.

This project advances core questions in graph theory, especially colorings and flows, with targeted work on (i) flows with boundary conditions toward Tutte’s flow conjectures, (ii) strong coloring via clique-reduction methods, and (iii) total coloring and overfullness for graphs with large maximum degree. The award also includes mentoring and training of graduate students.
